Definitely.
If this wasn’t Mishpacha magazine, I’d be waiting for Harrison Ford to fly in in his hat, wipe out the bad guys hiding in the basement making scary noises, and rescue the stone. As it is Rivi will have to save herself with the gun her father taught her how to use.
We don’t have frum superheroes, but a staple of our stories is the akeres habayis who can eliminate enemies and whip up a gourmet six course seuda for twenty, all while nursing twins and bringing in a seven figure salary.

Iyar - your concluding paragraph is gold

I don't see Rivi as such a superwoman at all.

Hey chevra! I was alerted to this thread by a member of my Readers Nook whatsapp group. We're massive fans of LIe of the Land, and all other serials in frum magazines. If you're on whatsapp and not yet in our group send me a PM with your whatsapp # so I can add you! Women only. Now I'm gonna read the whole thread :-D

Long time no see. This post is enough to make me start doing the WhatsApp.

Is Abba hinting at them from the grave that the choshen stone that was returned was a counterfeit also. Is the real one hidden in the vase?? Did Avigdor steal it to fund his lavish lifestyle?

They were hinting this week that whoever was snooping around in the old house wasn't jewish or religious. Makes you think it really could be Martin.

Ugh if it's Martin that would feel so contrived. He happens to be the boss of a friend of Rivi, I mean what are the odds?

My prediction is that Abba will come out fully exonerated in the end. His rationale for taking on the identity of his friend was somehow selfless. He was not a petty thief, as suggested this week.

He was actually maybe a hidden tzaddik and learning this will bring Gabe and Rivi a measure of comfort and closure.

I agree with the questions about how it is that know one knew. The principals or teachers of the schools where both Abba and Avigdor attended and still exists.

Also, what about Abba or Moish Garfinkel's parents? And he had no siblings? What happened to his actual real family?

I w been following this story every week and I absolutely love it! But I am drawing a blank as to who Martin is and why that may be significant. Can someone please remind me? I do recall that once Penina’s boss came over to her computer while she was looking something up about Moish or Avigdor. Is Martin her boss and an old friend of Avigdor and Moish?

She works with Martin/Martin's her boss (don't remember which). The conjecture is that he's more than that.

I hope it's not Martin, not a big fan of the bad guy being the one non-frum character in the story.

I'm also confused about who martin is! Finding it hard to keep track of everyone in this story. Can anyone help me out with who Martin is, and why is he presumed to be the bad guy?

Martin is Penina's employer. It was mentioned in a previous chapter that he is not Jewish (or isn't frum) and had provided food for some office party or event but didn't quite get the nuances of what was ok to order. People are presuming him to be the bad guy because in one chapter it mentioned that Penina saw him looking at what she was doing on her computer (as he was researching the whole mystery)
Oh and also because there was a note on hotel stationery that said "I know what you did" and it was signed "M"

A letter signed 'M', sounds a bit of a stretch, but ok, we'll be patient! Thanks!

I didn't like it at all. Copout. Nu, let's get to what's happening already, or deepen the layers. I love this story, but the pace is starting to lose steam.

Agree, I was disappointed, it's been too many chapters of keeping the readers in suspense, getting annoying
