I love my bangs wig.

If you're old enough you'll remember when it was the norm for girls of all ages to have bangs.

Bangs look better on me. I have a high hairline and my forehead looks massive without it.

Some women look better in bangs especially as you get a little older it can cover things like forehead wrinkles.

I think everyone looks prettier with some bangs. It frames the face, even just tiny wispy bangs.
Unless your dead drop pretty:)

I feel like bangs are easy. You just put on.
A front without bangs I need to tease a little and pull out baby hairs. Bangs is just on and run out the door.
And hair off the face is harsh on some ppl. Framing the face can highlight features a lot.

My question is, why NOT the bangs. When the "no bang" style came out like 10 years ago, I was so confused. It's so much more wiggy looking to me, even with the lace. Just the way it frames the face/covers the temples/ears. And the severe middle parts!! Doesn't look good on most people IMHO. But honestly, I've always been fashion impaired, so not sure my vote counts.

OK I think you all are getting me convinced to get bangs!
I have a low hairline and my wigs need to be pushed up and looks so yunchy.
A few questions-
Do you have to buy a new sheitel? or can I make bangs on an old one?
Is it best if the sheitel is sleek straight? I feel like that's how I usually see bangs. But mine is not straight but not wavy either. Just a messy mop. in between straight and wavy.
Also-- what type of bangs are better? A full bang or more thin wispy type that you still see some of the forehead

No bangs for me. I have a small forehead and just don’t look good with bangs.

Also, does anyone know a salon that I can try on a wig with bangs? In Brooklyn. Like someone who has pre-styled pieces.

Was curious really if it became a thing because of the style or because no bangs gave too much of a “wiggy” look

You can make bangs with an old wig. Just tl them to remove any baby hairs. Your sheitel macher should guide you.
I like bangs straight or crimpy.
My bang wig is straight but you can do either.
Let your sheitel macher cut it wispy first. Because once you do a heavier bang you can't undo it. If you feel heavier bangs would look better let her recut it.

I made bangs out of a wig that had a wiggy hairline. That being said, most women I know own one bang wig. It's great to throw on. It's great for the rain. And it's cute.
I wouldn't wear mine to simchas though.

I see plenty of bangs at simchas. If bangs suit someone better why shouldn't they wear them at simchas?

Of course people can and should.
I was just saying that I don't.
My other wigs are more elegant.

To me, its about a HAIRSTYLE.
No offense, but majority of typical conforming frum women Very Happy all look exactly the same, in boring styles that look good on some but not all.
Check out some celebrity hairstyles and you'll notice that different hairstyles suit some people so well, even if they are not trendy.
I have one curtain bang and one full bang, both converted from lace front wigs that made me look like every other newly married on the street.
I get compliments all the time, because the look suits me so much better

Trying to understand. Why are bangs such a thing for shaitels. If it was totally a style thing, wouldn’t we see more singles with bangs? Is it because people want a more natural looking Shaitel as opposed to a skin top??

Bangs are in style. Maybe not in the Tristate heimishe area. But out in the world.
