I'm having the same issue with my 9th grader, but we were told that no solid yeshiva will take him mid-year..so he's muddling through absolutely miserable.

We were told similar as well from one Rebbi. However, we were also told that you don't want to lose the kid ch"v in the process. Telling them to "make it work" doesn't work in chinuch nowadays. It's a scary world out there
Not trying to scare you...we are doing this based on Rabbanim advice

Not sure Monsey one would be a good fit. Definitely make sure to speak with parents in the grade you would be going into.
To answer your questions about cherry hill, they are kind and warm but also strict and professional when it comes to doing the work, attending classes, etc. It's not the type of place they let you slack off. It is tracked so all boys are not on the same level. My son has not complained about any "inappropriateness" or cursing (and he has been upset by that in other places).

This year is first year. From what I heard, it is very warm and they are really invested in the boys' success. They are machshiv each boy regardless of academic level and really infuse them with warmth and simchas Hatorah. Boys are just good nice boys. It has a good name so far. They have mostly local boys. Some boys from Monsey too.

This is their first year, there isn't a dorm.
Rabbi Strauss in Lakewood can help you with mesivta placement.
