Op I just went through this runaround recently with my son.
The Dr was at a loss as well but I kept insisting they check for mono instead of sending me for a chest x-ray again. They did and results finally proved I was right, he had epstein barr with fever for several weeks.
I think the UTI could be secondary but certainly something else going on which is why the fever is still there. Something like mono could cause UTI as well.
Hope it should be something simple that you and can all get through soon iyh. Refua sheleima and keep us posted.

Are you still hanging out in ER?
Are you going home or do they want to admit her?
How’s your daughter feeling now?
How’s your husband handling this?
What a long day! You must be tired and hungry…

Oh boy what a day. Admitting her. And crazy lady I am I'm not even upset! I'm just so relieved and grateful they found what's wrong. A uti! For whatever reasons we don't know the other meds didn't work. They started her on I don't know which antibiotic and now waiting for culture to see of it matches. My daughter is bh so much better. Probably from being well hydrated. Don't know how about the fever because she's still on motrin. They took a sono to make sure an abscess wasn't born from the uti technically left untreated. Waiting for results for that.
Dh is bh very ok. After work he came to the hospital. (He couldn't stop drop and run with his kind of work). We had a very open discussion. I discussed with him my feelings and bh all is great.
I'm still in the er waiting for a bed upstairs
I'm not even tired. Hungry oh yes. Dh coming back soon. Went home to be with the kids a little. He's bringing back food and we'll eat supper together-which is such a treat because we never have a chance for a meal just us 2.

You knew it was still the UTI! Chas vishalom it would have been left untreated any longer. The fever was her body trying to scream something is wrong.

Is this a pediatrician group? If so, I think I know who you are talking about. I think this dr is TERRIBLE!!! Can you see any other dr in the group? This dr never takes me seriously.

Ya it’s hard to believe a dr wouldn’t be concerned on his own when fever persists after being “treated” for a uti. Especially when there are different kinds of bacteria. It’s not normal for fever to persist more than 24 hours after starting treatment. I am so happy you advocated for ur daughter and took matters into your own hands. Your pediatrician made a big mistake not catching this on his own.

Sono was bh all clear. Everything looks great. No abscess either. So now I feel like making a dance. Lol. Bloods looked great other than the inflammatory markers. Oh bladder showed infection on sono. Dont ask me how they see but they do. So yea...

I discussed that with dh too. He's usually an alarmist. Whatever it was a great lesson.

Wow thanks for the update. Does your DH understand why you took her in? You had said earlier he wasn’t thrilled at the idea… Does he understand the women’s intuition now?
Also just curious if it’s a UTI why are they admitting?

Lol. A mother's intuition only a mother can understand. He understands? Um yea he does. We discussed it at length. He's not upset anymore because he sees how calm I am now v. How crazy I was the last week.
They're admitting because she's sick for over 3 weeks. They need to get it under control once and for all.

I just want to put out there that I've had a very good experience with Dr stock. We're using him since the end of March and he's been great. I've texted him questions, called at night, called his office etc and I can ask any questions I have. I don't want anyone to be discouraged from using him if they need a good urologist
