How much did you gain with twin pregnancy?

Finding myself really anxious and scared to gain too much...

I didn't gain much more than my other pregnancies and lost it quite quickly with nursing (I am naturally thin, gain a lot in pregnancy then lose it all in six months to a year). The loose skin however I couldn't do anything about and never went away completely.

I gained about 30lb which was less then my singleton pregnancy. But it was not such a good thing as my babies were born. Very small and had to spend time in the NICU.

With twins there's a lot more for the weight to go to. There's another placenta, more amniotic fluid, even breast tissue and overall blood volume increases more then a singleton pregnancy.

I'm due now and I gained 45 with this twins pregnancy. I think I lost body fat, my arms got very thin.

Read the book by Barbara Luke on twins pregnancy. She makes a strong case for gaining well by 28 weeks to produce best outcomes for multiples. I couldn't gain as much as she recommended although I did try, bh I made it to full term and they're measuring well.

Almost like me except for the going down part. Started at 128, gained steadily and ended at 161 day of delivery. Don't forget you have two babies, two placentas, and two water sacks, plus your own blood volume increases to handle the extra oxygen they need. Don't worry about weight gain unless your ob thinks you're putting on too much. Oh, and if you're underweight to begin with, you need to put on even more. You'll need the extra fat because you'll be nursing two babies, not just one.

I gained a ton. There is data showing that if you gain more especially early on your babies are born at higher weight. I knew mine would be born early and need nicu and wanted to gain a lot early to ensure good birth weights. I gained close to 50 lb and babies were 7 lb at 36 weeks but now stuck with a lot of extra weight to lose.

This is going back 16 years. But I gained 50 pounds. And I gave birth at 33 weeks.
I lost most of it pretty quickly. I found I had a harder time losing weight with each subsequent pregnancy. Nothing to do with twins or singleton

I was the slimmest I’ve been before. I lost 10 during the first trimester, ended in my 8th month with 70 lbs gained total. Lost 40 within two weeks of having them…mostly water.

I gained the most than my others pregnancy.. I started 119 went down to 107 full term twin pregnancy at 37.5 was 166. I'm by nature tall and skinny.. it took me a year to reach my starting weight.... I still have this extra skin which there isnt much to do anything about it... plus I have this Diastasis Recti and my stomach is unportional.... I'm doing exercise though idk if that helps... maybe for my mind...

25-30 lbs. Not much overall. But the stretch changed my body shape.

Bh gave birth at 39 weeks. No NICU.

Off topic but that’s so interesting that you only knew you were carrying twins for 2 months!

I gained 46 lbs. Didn't lose in the beginning. 20 came off immediately and we'll see how long the rest will hang around.

My experience was a bit different. I started out overweight. I was showing very fast even though I didn’t gain any weight. I ended my pregnancy the same weight as I started.
