So curious about this. Parents always say they love each child equally, but we’re not robots. Our emotions fluctuate constantly. We tend to like certain people more than others in general, so why wouldn’t it apply to our children too?
I get that parents love all their children (hopefully) but having a favorite- that’s different. It just means there’s something about that specific child you like even more…
So, do you have a favorite child or do you really not?
Of course I don’t mean if you show favoritism, because I don’t think that’s appropriate. But I do think it’s ok to feel more connected to/like a certain child better than the others (without letting them know).

I do. But more than one. For starters, my baby is always always one of them.

No I do not have a favorite child. I love the one who made me a parent. The law breaker who's chutzpadik and constantly needs me to play lawyer, the sweet helpful child, the sneaky little critter always making up stories, the bull dozer fighting and destroying, the one who's been through illness and back by, the underdog and the bully.
There's so many dianamics here but they are all mine gifted to me by hashem and each one honestly melts my heart ❤️

I don’t have a favorite child, but I’ve definitely had times where I favored one over the other. Just for that period of time. But overall they’ve each had their time in the limelight. And I definitely don’t show it.

Not having favourite.
But they are time when some are easier and cause less stress. So its more relaxing with them.
However that changes daily even hourly.

At different times a day, especially when I’m spending time one on one with a kid I think “this is my favorite child” .
But it changes hourly!

My mother once told my baby brother (3 yo) "you're my favorite [name]!" and he said "No mommy, say I'm your favorite little boy!" because there were two little boys in the family at the time

My first daughter after 2 sons was SUCH a mechaya with 2 rambunctious boys--one with slight special needs and the other a toddler with massive tantrums.
Now the boys are teenagers and my daughter hit full-on TWEEN and is MOODY and is showing signs of Chutzpah! Ugh.
My child who was the WORST sleeper until he was 4, is now the best sleeper at 7.
My eldest with special needs has had his challenges, but he also brings me so much joy.
It really DEPENDS on what. If I were to tell myself that I would get to the point where my "BEST BEHAVED" was my "most challenging"--I wouldn't believe it, be"H I hope she will grow out of it, since my 2nd son is very much like her and he is maturing into a fine young man.

Can I be honest? I have one child who was so hard as a little kid. He is much easier now, as a teen, B"H. When he was little, though, he made me cry regularly (and made his siblings cry regularly too). We got him help, therapy, meds, lots and lots of parenting, and plenty of mistakes along the way.
When I read this question, I was thinking, "No, I don't have a favorite. Ooh, maybe that one, he's so cute! Or that one, I relate so well to her! Or that one, I look up to him so much! Or that one, she's adorable!..." and I could have said that easily for every single one of my kids...except for that one.
It makes me sad. He's grown so much over the years, I put so much effort into helping him, and I don't dislike him or anything. But he never went through that stage where I thought he was cute. I was never able to relate to his behaviors. And I guess that's what's stopping me from being able to think of him as my favorite...Sigh.

I have a least favorite stage. I suffer through it with all my kids until they get past it.

No favorites round here, each of my kids are incredible and bring us so much joy and pleasure. Such a gift from Hashem.
I do find some of the kids easier/better company/insert any other positive trait, but all our kids are our favorites (yes it's possible!)
I find the ones who gave us the most the most grief are the ones giving us the most nachas!
Love them all so much, so grateful.

There was a point where my daughter was definitely my favorite. My son was going through a very annoying stage. But somehow my daughter was convinced that I like him better. Go figure.

Honestly, no. Sure I have children that are easier to deal with, but they are all my favourite. Even the ones who have come close to absolutely breaking my heart

I feel like each child is my favorite in a different way. One is so smart and brainy and articulate. One loves pretty things and is very emotionally intelligent. My third has a lot of leadership qualities and is so pretty. My fourth is so affectionate and loving and funny. And my baby loves me more than anyone else in the world. And they all take turns being annoying too. But yeah ❤️

Do I love them all the same? Of course! Do I enjoy them all the same amount, not really. I can play with my baby for hours. I just love the infant stage.

I don’t have a favorite. But I do have moments where one is easier than the others… and ‘that’ child changes often enough that they all get a turn in feeling like I’m vibing with them. I love them each so much. They’re all so different and special in their own way.

I find each one is my favorite in a different way. I love each of them no less than the other. There are certainly times of day when I will find one easier than another, but I like to think I favor each one in a different way.
