Whom do you use? Anywhere in NYC.

I prefer someone that has a kind office staff but of course if the doctor is good then I want to hear about him regardless of the details.

I know about the referral agencies.
Thanks

I used PREMA RAMASWAMY from Maimonides, recommended by my pediatrician, Dr Roth, but I moved shortly after so don't have real info and my son just had a heart murmur and an arythmia but if you want to look into her, her number is 718-283-7501

What condition are you going to a cardiologist for? That would depend on which cardiologist you should see....

This.
We used Dr Flynn at Weill Cornell for follow up for a congenital heart defect.
Before surgery we used Dr. Levine at LIJ.
For surgery Boston children's hospital.

Another voter for Dr. Levasseur. She is so knowledgeable and great with kids. Also agree it may depend on the condition you're treating.

Oh wow thank you so much for all your responses.

I didn't think I'll get any! Smile

Its for a condition that needs to be monitored but won't need surgery etc.

Very happy with Dr. Ludomirsky @ NYU.
Very nice staff
Also for a condition that gets monitored.
He also sees patients in Williamsburg. I think in ODA

You can also go online and see who is the best for your child specific condition. Some doctors specialize in congenital heart disease, some in acquired, some in electrical issues etc. Hatzlacha

Thanks
I want to hear what heimish people's experiences are with specific doctors.

Online ratings can sometimes be skewed because of wait times etc

When ds was born with vsd, my NYU doctor told me that anything heart related should be treated at Columbia. It's been many years since I have to take him to a cardiologist, so I don't remember the doctor we used, but we definitely did Columbia.

If you can afford to time wise and money wise, especially because it sounds like just a once a year type visit I would go to the best— the best is boston or chop. Columbia and nyu are good. Mt Sinai dr pass is good too. But won’t compare to boston or chop

Columbia is tops for anyone living in NY/NYC.

Amothet Apple, assuming you are out of NYC?

We use Dr Soloveitchik in Columbia for many years and are very happy.

I live in ny and travel twice a year. We started in Columbia but the care is so dramatically different there was no turning back once we started at Boston. The level of investment in your child for one thing just won’t compare. And if you ever need inpatient care the fact that Columbia doesn’t have in house attending coverage is a serious flaw that is unacceptable to me. And in my experience the step down floor in Columbia is run by nurses and fellows and getting hold of an attending there is impossible. Many people travel to boston and chop because the care is just remarkable.
Lots of people recently have also been going to Sinai and nyu because they’ve been too frustrated with Columbia

We saw Dr Seena Abraham and we’re very impressed. Not sure if she’s necessarily best for what you need, but perhaps worth it to look into her practice. Her staff was also very nice and accommodating.
