I disagree about columbia, we have been very happy there. True the step down unit is not great but in our experience we were only transferred there when we were basically ready for discharge. The ICUs are excellent. I really see no reason to travel all the way to Boston for follow up, even if it's just once or twice a year. Unless it's a really complex case that boston has more experience with. We've actual been to Boston and they told us there was nothing they could offer that we couldn't get at columbia. A trip to Boston for a day of appointments sounds really exhausting.
