How do your 12-13 year old boys spend their evenings (elementary, not high school)? If it's not on an electronic or reading and now too dark for sports

Homework, reading, annoying his siblings, practicing leining for his bar mitzvahs. No screen time on school nights.

Op, what time does your son get home from school that he has too much free time on his hands?

4:15pm, not much homework. He sometimes goes to a learning program, but they want fathers to attend and my husband isn't always available. He's in good shape with his leining (he's naturally inclined).

My son is 11.5 - comes home reads circle, library books, naki radio, eats, fights with sister, bakes something easy from cookbook, plays by friend. Goes to sleep earlier - 8:30 because just tired and bored by that time

They read the Circle on Shabbos (we save it for then), we have a naki radio but its mostly for bedtime, he's not a huge fan of it, his brothers are. He likes board games, but none of his siblings are and I'm not usually available in the evenings to play with him. My kids are not early birds, 10:30pm bed time wouldn't be unusual-- drives us nuts, but that's what their body needs.

Is there a reason naki radio is only for bedtime - is that a rule or just how it works out? (wondering for myself if there is something to be concerned about that my son listens for hours and loves it)
