"Her base" means that raizy fried was/is a social media personality, and she had lots of people who enjoy watching her videos and seeing what she posts, so they will be likely to buy her book.
That's why it's called an "influencer"- they influence people to do things.

I am not a RF follower, for example, so I am less likely to be interested in buying a RF book.

Seriously, there are still Yentls and Yentis and Yentas under the age of 80 out there and I feel bad for them. (Especially if their legal names are Karen.)
I was going to say this. And continued reading all replies to see if someone already posted this.
Yenty is an adorable name and real people are named Yenta. It is not nice to use this name in her title.
I'd be mortified if it was my name in the title.

Yenta is a useful word. But if you know some IRL, yeah, you find it cringey.

The name yenta and cannotation of yenta are 2 separate things. It’s not like A Karen is every woman named Karen. Not every John means a bathroom.

I know exactly.
How would you feel about this title if your child's name was Yenta?
I don't have any Yenta in my family yet I feel it's insensitive to name a book that.

This is a ridiculous conversation and wouldn't be happening anywhere other than on this site which cannot fargin her.

I wouldn't name my kid yenta if I were so sensitive to that. You know what you're getting into if you choose to use that name.

I have yet to see another creator, influencer or artist receive so much criticism and nitpicking on this site. Consistently. Not just one thread bashing a single music video. Multiple threads bashing every aspect of this woman's business. But only in the name of "discussion" obviously.

I was an avid follower of the ORIGINAL RAIZY. I loved her posts, her recipes and bought her cookbook. Ever since she became an "influencer' and promoted herself plus all the companies she represented, I was totally turned off. I wish her much luck with her NEW SELF!!! I'll stay the old (yenta) self, the way SHE was originally!!!!

I personally don't think the title was a smart choice. It may catch a potential buyer's attention but it lacks sensitivity.
I don't know the author since I am not a follower. I don't have an opinion about her. From what I read here it seems like she's a successful woman.

Can't agree more.
She's not forcing you to follow her, or listen to her episodes, or read her book. So if you think she's changed and no longer appeals to you, STOP FOLLOWING HER. It's that easy. What doesn't work for you may work for someone else and you're ruining it for them. You don't have to pull her apart on here or irl.

Literally one of the reasons we stay away from lh.

Rant over.

I think if there was a secular name that had such an implication, it would be banned to use it in its negative form. For some reason this name is allowed to be used in its negative form quite happily- I’m not sure why that is.

Signed, the mother of a daughter with a second name of yenta.

I wasn't trying to bash Raizy. I'd love to read the book but I don't buy too many.
I was simply making a comment on the name Yenta. I know I can't change city hall, though.

If someone is named Yenta then she has lots of ouch moments in her life I’m sure. I read about the “Shtetel Yenta” in every second story. I mean just last week I think Mishpacha had an article labeled “Is Yente the shadchan not enough anymore?” , my point is, while I do see your point…. I think the only people to blame here are her parents that gave her the name without another name attached to it, so she can be called by a more accepted name.

So basically you’re a fan of Raizy only as long as she doesn’t become too successful, too pretty or too big for you…. wow what a fan!!
