For preschool aged children.
Why? The list is long enough of mandatory vaccines.

I'm really upset to give it to my child. Meanwhile migrant children don't need to get vaccinated.

The flu vaccine has been mandatory for years already in NYC, people become aware of it every year when winter season comes

It’s required in NJ as well for anyone under 5 in a legal school or daycare, it’s not just NY. I’m not thrilled about it but bH my kids have not had any reactions the one year they had to take it.

What's the other option if the school will kick your child out? Some people need their kids to be in school so they can work.

My school doesn't insist on it bh. Not sure how they get around it.

My sister teaches in a school that does insist. She teaches the turning 5 year olds. She had mothers keep the kids home for a few days until the birthday. Meaning, they school (city?) gives a deadline of when you need to be immunized. They sent until the deadline, then kept home until the birthday. Quire sure this only works for January kids. No mother can keep a child home for weeks on end.

A few years ago when I worked in a school it was still possible to get a religious exemption. Today this doesn't work any longer. Aside from staying home are there any other options?

Bumping this up. What are some ways to get out of the vaccine?

I'm in jersey and I absolutely get a religious exemption. I wouldn't give the flu shot.

I tell my pediatrician that I am only getting it under duress and I chose the option for nasal spray. I stand right there and have my child blow his/her nose as soon as it's administered. I've been doing this for a few years, as I have a special needs child who was in an ei center and then a headstart. The pediatrician is totally ok with it.

I shlep around the school. Next week, too busy now, sometimes I tell them outright that I'm not giving it and not to dare to call me again about it.

IDK I only have to update my kids immunizations in the summer when I register them for the following year. They’ve never bothered me in the winter so far.

Lucky you. They absolutely harass me every year. Bh Dc is over age five this year so I’m off the hook for now.
