BTW I just assume everything about all of us is on there somewhere. Socials, bank accounts, etc etc.

It might be a scam. But even if not there was a major breach a while back and really all our ssn are posted. But you can’t do anything with just the ssn. We are all equally vulnerable and we just move on.

I think you can lock your credit. Maybe look into that. But yeah, most of our personal info is out there so don’t feel like it’s just you.

EVERYONE should lock their credit reports. There's no reason not to, unless you need to apply for a credit card right now. Then apply, and after you get approved, lock your report. We all have way too much of our info on the dark web.
