I must say not seeing the sun is very annoying

That said I get sad when it's hot and all

I literally suffer from winter depression. May be a contradiction, I like the structured and coziness but for some reason I’m not in great spirits and the dark cloud days get me down in the dumps.
see above re:SAD. The brain responds with elevated mood to light and with depressed mood to dimness. We all tend to be more cheerful on bright days and less so on dark ones. It's a normal response, and is called a disorder only when it's severe and interferes with normal functioning--just as occasional ordinary melancholy is utterly normal but when intense, unremitting, continuing over an extended period of time and interfering with normal functioning is considered clinical depression.

Google Barrow, Alaska-- the northernmost town in the state, north of the Arctic Circle, where for over 60 days in winter the sun never peeks above the horizon. (Forget davening netz, there is no netz.) Read about how the residents cope with the darkness.

In any event, if you function normally, and are just less chipper than usual, relax. There's nothing wrong with you. By rights we should probably all spend the winter just this side of hibernation. Polar bears and penguins we're not.

Her voice is very soothing.

You think? It gets on my nerves. I couldn't listen for more than half a minute.

That's why I wrote some of you not all of you. Smile

For a few years when I used to come out of my office when it was dark outside already it helped me to listen to her. I don't know exactly why but maybe because her voice feels meditative to me.

you can make playdates 1-2 times a week
sign up to local indoor pool kids can go 1-2 times a week
if you can afford talent classes- baking, art, dancing, it can be so fun in the winter!
I do lots of activities although I (dont) wish I can just turn on a dvd or something.. (I wont, I wont)
