The typical Monsey/Lakewood Yiddishe House -
where do your kids do homework? arts n crafts?
Im moving soon (op from other thread here) and trying to figure out how to organize the new house.
Right now, in my small apartment everything is done at the kitchen table. or dining room table.
Im having this vision that in an organized house, the kitchen is to eat, the dining room is for shabbas, the playroom is for toys and the bedrooms are to sleep.
Where does arts n crafts - cutting and pasting - fit it?

I live in a regular house, and we have an art table in the playroom, but when I have a toddler between 9-24 months who gets into things the older kids have to do art etc at the dining room table (we don’t have a kitchen table).

I keep art things near the kitchen because when they do art, I like when they do it on the kitchen table, so I can be near them when they do it and I'm somewhat in control and the mess is easier to clean in the kitchen. I have a basement playroom and used to keep the stuff there, but I moved it to a closet near the kitchen.

Currently building a house and (flat, 4 bedrooms) I’m doing the playroom adjacent to kitchen and a kitchen peninsula for the kids to do “everything” on.
They want to be next me anyway, it’s easier to clean a counter, and this way the tables are for the adults to eat.
