Not marrying your siblings is forbidden by halacha, (and condemned by almost every society), so obviously it's not done.

Marrying a step sibling is permitted by halacha. It's not a daily occurance, but this is far from the first time it has happened within frum society, and there is no reason why it shouldn't be done.

No it’s not at all the same. One says in the Torah that you’re not allowed to and the other is totally mutar!!
That’s a huge difference!

If you take a step back and think about it objectively, there is high reason to think this could work.

Their parents married because they shared similar values or personalities. Naturally, their children inherited some of those values or personality. They have much in common.

If they never lived under the same roof, this isn’t that different than first cousins marrying (which I think is even stranger. Knowing each other up close since you were kids.)

Not an every day occurrence but not too coo coo either. I’m sure they can use your support and unconditional happiness for them.

The tricky part is hoping that all is well on their parents end. Gets complicated when there is family overlap.

Genetically, it is much safer than cousins marrying. They have no common genetic material.

You forgot the number one problem between cousins (and obv biological siblings). Genetics overlap.

It’s not that complicated not to get engaged to your step sibling.
They chose to do this and the consequences that come with it.

Seriously?? Consequences? It's not a must to yenta online about people & their circumstances. It's actually not very nice at all.

Halacha isn’t the only thing that shouldn’t be done.
There are societal norms that are there for a reason.

Kinda hot, it’s actually the number 1 plot line of p—-n vidoes.

My first reaction was that perhaps there was some scandal that forced them to get married. But on second thought it’s possible it just works! Very strange indeed. Can’t imagine.

Who decided on said social norms? Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done.
I'm sure that they consulted with daas torah, they don't need the public gossiping about it.

There's no scandal involved. They're basically strangers to each others.

I was just gonna say this!!
And he had wealthy other suggestions and still preferred the poor step sister . His brother traveled to radin to try to stop the shidduch but the wheel of his wagon got stuck and he came too late. The Chofetz Chaim was happy and felt it was hashgacha that nobody stopped it.
