From how young to you start singing Shema to your kids to sleep? Do you say just shema or everything ? What about negel vassal? When to introduce to my son?

I have friends who do it from birth. I usually start at 18 months when they begin to be able to speak

Shema day 1.
Neggel basset I know I should start earlier, but it’s really hard on a newborn.
I usually wait a couple of months.
I do try to wash/wet their hands at least whichever is something I was told to do by a was for an older child who at some point started refusing to wash neggel vasser.

So halachikly You would want to introduce these around the age of 4-6. But since they're associated so deeply with the ideas of taharah and the central part of Yiddishkeit, It's a beautiful thing to introduce it as young as you can.
Shema means the first paragraph or two. The rest of krias Shema al hamitah you can introduce at any point, but most people start saying it at a much older age.

We start both at 1 year old. Now at 18 months my baby is very familiar with routine and participates happily.

As soon as they come home from the hospital, because I usually forget in the hospital. I say shema, hamalach, and b’sheim hashem. Negel gasser I also start right away, but don’t always remember.

I sing shema (+v'ahavta) and hamalach from when the child has a more structured bedtime routine, so probably closer to one year.

Shema every night from birth, I’m actually surprised so many people start later! We want to infuse our kids with kedusha as soon as possible!
I’ll do negel vaaser once within the day after they’re born. After that I wish I could say I do it daily (that’s technically my goal) but I’ll do it every time after I cut their nails and then around 15-18 months is when I start doing it more consistently.
Thanks for reminding me to work on it!

I sing Shma (not vehavta) and Hamalach plus a traditional lullaby from about 2-3 months when I begin a nighttime routine.
It's a soothing way to put my babies to bed.
I guess I also have some residual holocaust trauma because in the back of my mind I sometimes think let Shma be ingrained in them so no matter what happens in the world they should have this passuk deep in their psyche.
