Whole roasted cauliflower- how is it kosher

How do restaurants with a hechsher serve whole roasted cauliflower because many of them do

Some people hold that if it's a very fresh head and the leaves are tightly packed you need to just check the first 2 layers and if they are clear you don't need to check the rest

We hold that you can but fresh asparagus (not only frozen) but you need to cut off all the triangles.

Last I checked, white asparagus doesnt have to be checked so when I want whole asparagus that’s what I get.

I buy Badatz Eidah Hachareidis greenhouse grown cabbage.
It still says "חובה להפריד עלים"

Agree OP.
Whole roasted garlic is also problematic. The worms are under the peels so they need to be peeled first and washed.

Throw the tomatoes but bugs are overrated. I don’t mean it’s ok to eat bugs, I mean that the whole “bug free” vegetable industry is mostly a scam and very often the “bug free” vegetables you’re paying triple the amount for do actually have plenty of bugs, but either they pretend they don’t see them or they they rely on far fetched loophole heterim because of “financial loss”. Think frozen broccoli and more.

There are also some vegetable brands that are just as likely to be bug free as the “kosher” brands but the hashgachos won’t give their stamp of approval cuz it means the kosher companies will lose money. Some triple washed spring mixes, etc.

Bugs that are not visible to the naked eye are allowed to be eaten. Let’s not forget that.

I know personally from insiders in the industry.

I’ve checked Costcos triple washed broccoli , it was infested with bugs . I don’t think what you’re saying is true . Same with triple wash spring mix, I have definitely seen bugs

There are definitely different opinions of establishing a chazaka etc.

I wasn’t referring to fresh broccoli when I mentioned triple washed. But yes many non organic triple washed spring mixes have the same infestation levels as “kosher” spring mixes. An item only needs to be checked when it is “muchzak b’tolaim”. Have you ever checked “kosher” spring mix?

And insiders will know that many Jewish frozen broccoli brands are notorious for having infested batches.

My DH works in this field and what you're saying is just not true.
If you checked a bodek bag of frozen broccoli and found it infested, I can't believe the company didn't take action to remove batch from the market.
(This is pure lashon hara btw. Motsi shem ra?)

From the CRC: All bell peppers must have the crown/stem area removed and the rest of the outside of the pepper be rinsed and rubbed (especially in the grooves) under running water. This is true for mini peppers as well. They may not be roasted whole. The crown/stem area must be chopped off, and then washed and rubbed very well. Be alert for peppers from Israel, which require separation of terumah and ma'aser.

Remove peel before roasting the garlic as there may be insects under the peel.

Peppers
Remove stem and surrounding area

A ton of recipes in magazines still call for roasting in the skin.
