Is there an urgent care in lkwd that takes NYC insurance? My son split his lip and might need glue/stitches

I don’t remember which but there’s one urgent care that I know ppl use in Brooklyn with nj Medicaid so I assume it would work the opposite way. It was either chai care or friendly…

But in general in lkwd I haven’t heard of ppl going to urgent cares for stitches.

Or a a boy mom friend of mine said “we don’t save for chasunos, we save for stitches”

Pa Ackerman
Pa Lind
Dr Tarlow
These are the names ppl use for stitches.
Lind does take insurance but the others I don’t think take.

For a lip I think you’d want someone very good… technically you can go to the ER too.

Try dr tarlow. I paid pop for him to remove my son’s stitches and it wasn’t crazy expensive. He’s also very good

Removing stitches is no big deal!
When we needed to have stitches removed in a place where we didn’t have insurance we went to a PA in his house and he charged $20… dr Tarlow charges upward of $300 for stitches.

ETA he doesn’t even take NJ Medicaid

Go to the e.r
The few times I went they did a decent job and you won't have to pay.

Drive to NY. It isn't that far and cheaper than paying out of pocket. Same for broken bones.

no NJ treatment is covered by NYS medicaid except for the emergency room or hospital. NYS does not put any non emergent treatment as a covered benefit outside of the state.

I thought Medicaid can’t cross state lines, because Medicaid is different in each state.

Urgent cares are not covered but the ER will be if you go to the hospital.
