Doesn’t look like it, More like an in between, for 30-40 degree weather. For colder he can just layer up.
I would get it but I live in central Israel where it doesn’t go below 40. Thanks for the link

That’s what I thought too. I’m in New Jersey and the last few years it didn’t get too cold in the winter aside for sometimes in the middle of the night. Last year no snow and the year before just a coating so I don’t think I need to buy very heavy winter coats like I used to with my older kids.
Off topic- but how would you get it to Israel? One of my older kids is there now and I’m trying to figure out how I could ship some bulkier things.

It does not look like a winter coat. I think it's a fall jacket.

This is a lightweight jacket.
They have winter coats as well.

Both look fine for an NJ winter IMO. On the coldest days you can wear a sweater underneath too, but for 90% of the winter it's enough.

This looks lightweight? I thought it was heavier.
I guess for that price it’s probably not that warm but it I thought it looked warmer than the other one.

Read the reviews on the first one. It looks quite encouraging.

I used to only buy down coats but I really don’t think they need that anymore.

I will only buy down coats for my boys, the lightweight puffers do nothing in the real winter. If you don’t want to do down, the really warm TO zip ups are warmer than these polyester jackets

I wouldn’t mind the TO zip ups but my son said his class was making fun of them. I’m not sure why?!

You know what I’m thinking? There’s a class leader who probably can’t afford it and he might be the one making fun. Who knows?
I also think it’s cool (not the price) but my son explained why he doesn’t want it when I suggested it.
