For a long term plan, my son healed from pandas using homeopathy. He got it when he was 4 and now it's 3 years later and other than emptiona dysregylation he's bh much better. I used Resilience naturopathy in CA which is telehealth. I'm very open about it in the pandas group (but not active in the group) happy to discuss it with you there if u want.
I figured it's cheaper than all these specialty doctors who charge 500-1k each visit. The initial visit is 700 but after that it's 190 every 4-6 weeks or so and it doubles as my therapy lol

Surprisingly enough my son is the one with pandas even though it was my daughter that tested positive 9 times in 9 months. For my son am doing Sandoz brand of I don't remember which one, and doctor talking about adding on clindamycin since he's on antibiotics for close to 2 months already |
So we're on the right track, hopefully.
We started clindamycin today.
Am I understanding correctly? I first need to treat the active strep. Then, while continuing abx, I must address the pandas?

I'm listening.
Is the homeopathy route very different from standard protocol?
And I assume there is alot of supplementation/ practicioners involved, which can be very costly as well?

Active strep is priority. Continuing abx and can range from 30 days to months.
The issue with pandas is symptoms come and goes, every time there’s strep and if it’s pans any virus. So you also want to focus on deeper healing / reducing inflammation so your child isn’t as susceptible to total dysregulation with every illness.

Standard protocol is abx
People do supplements and that gets pricy and complicated (at least for me to deal with)
Homeopathy is the simplest to dose and deal with but its a long game

OP- this issue is close to my heart. I would be happy to pay for your son's first visit, whichever provider it may be. You may also want to look into Dr. Bock - google Bock integrative medicine. You may need to do ABX long term at first and then wean off and integrate other treatments.
Please private message me your information. I'm posting under my own screenname.

Thank you for your generous offer. I am so touched by your care.
However, I cannot stomach the thought of taking money from you. We will figure it out somehow.
I feel supported in a powerful way here.

Op in addition to motrin are you open to trying an antihistamine and robitussin to help take down some of the inflammation quickly? It sounds like he can really use as much help as possible bringing it down right now.

Hugs!! Any route is expensive. I would recommend treating the strep and homeopathy to help his immune system. Resilience naturopathic is the place for pandas homeopathy. It's not cheap but it's cheaper than functional medicine which is expensive Drs and then tons of expensive supplements. The homeopathic remedy is cheap and it's just one at a time.

Asking from a place of total lack of knowledge and experience - would it be helpful to discuss this with your son? To make it clear to him that you know he's miserable, but that this is not him, he is sick, and you are working to get him better, and iy"H as soon as you do he'll feel himself again? He must be so scared himself, it's so frightening to have such thoughts and feelings. Does he understand clearly that this is not really him talking, his brain is inflamed or whatever and it's affecting him this way?

The reason I would go to indich as soon as possible, despite the expense is if he is expressing wish to die at this young age, I would call his symptoms pretty severe and go to the person who can get you ivig (immune system treatment) emergency...which is indich and not lebowitz.
I rate pandas symptoms on a scale, but anything life threatening (like suicidal, memory loss, severe cognitive decline or eating restrictions) I would look for provider to treat emergency with ivig for immediate relief, and then, if I was so inclined, change to homeopathy, or different specialist etc.

Yes I told my son (4) you are a good boy and your body is having a hard time.
You can tell him that his body was sick and that's why he cough etc. Now his mind got sick and that's why he feels and says these things.
Agree that suicidal talk is a severe symptom to the point of emergency treatment.

No pressure and I don't mean to embarrass you in any way. Please let me know if you reconsider as it would be important for me as well.

I had strep going around the house for months. Found out that one of my children was an asymptomatic carrier so although she wasn’t getting sick, she was contagious. Once she was treated , everyone else was fine.
Also make sure you change the toothbrushes and anything else that might have gotten germs

Whoops I see he was posted about earlier in the thread already. But yes he is substantially cheaper. More like $400 for the consult.
Posting under my user name. Feel free to PM with any questions.
My son had similar symptoms. He was also our sunshine and went to some monstrous version🫣🫣🫣
