Need some good recommendations for a long succos break!
Looking for secular book recommendations, she likes light fantasy. Loved land of stories, wings of fire, dragon rider. She read all the little house books.
She refuses to read classics, anything that looks very old is automatically unappealing.
She also read most of the Jewish tween series available.
Help!

How was land of stories? Thinking of getting it but wondering if it’s appropriate. Was there a lot of relationship stuff?

If she likes little house, try
ballet shoes

orpan train children

Great fantasy/ adventure books:

The Doldrums
No such things as dragons by reeve
The mysterious Benedict society

Not for everyone.
I believe there are curse words. I definitely remember that she calls her father fat and calls her mother stupid.

No, she doesn’t Smile Maybe in the movie. I know the book by heart and she never does that.

But also, fat and stupid aren’t curse words.

It’s one of the few books that imparts a lesson without moralizing, so I would always recommend it.
