You can control exactly what kids can access. (Forsure not videos)
Good thing about Amazon is that u can purchase 2 year warranty for decent price

I think the family player looks more like a smartphone and the solo looks like a primitive MP3. Subscription is $9.99 per month.

The chassidish kids around me all have the Solo (no screen- looks like a regular MP3).
It does not need continuous Internet connection. You need to be connected once every 30 days to keep your account active unless you pay for the year in advance. Bear in mind, new releases can only be downloaded/synced when you connect , so if you never connect you won't have any new songs on the device.

On Amazon it shows solo selling for $150 but looks like phone?
Ok edited to say that was my mistake. It is solo.

I would only consider it ok if you censor whatever is downloaded and then disconnect from the wifi. There is plenty of garbage under the umbrella of jewish music that doesn't necessarily align with your values.

I know videos and kol isha.
Can you remove songs by specific singers?
