Hi following the other post apart not affording yomtuv
I was in the supermarket to buy meat roll I chose the smallest one it came to 125 shekals
So I put it back as I knew it would be enough for one meal and couldn't justify spending that money
Bh we managed on chicken and mincemeat
We gave bh a lot of money for tzedaka for other people to have food for shabbos someone turned around at the table and said to me you no what the people who you gave money to will go and have meat roll
I'm not begrudging them
But it bothers me we don't have it at the table but the people I give tzedaka to do
Do I just buy for next yomtuv the meat roll
It's happened before I've given tzedaka for people for chag and the person turns around to me and says ok know I can go buy that outfit from the store and the other one said know I can go on outings
I'm happy and bh my children always look great to buy from gemachs and outings is not my scene but will give money for my kids to go with friends
Next time I gave the money I said it's for a box of chickens
Am I wrong that I can't justify buying expensive things
But the people I give tzedaka have literally nothing but do buy expensive cuts of meat and clothes

I don’t know what is right or wrong, but I definitely hear you and feel the same way.

I'm not saying right or wrong. But if you're trying to understand their mindset, it's different. People who are making it on a budget have the motivation to budget and buy what they can't afford. People who don't have the money for what they need, sometimes it changes their outlook. They feel there anyways taking. They don't know what they'll have tomorrow so they just want to enjoy today. Again. I'm not justifying or judging. I'm just saying it's different.
