Anyone ever felt the need to ask about bathing kids on 3 day YTs?

TBH, my little ones have gone 3 days without baths in the past, I was sick, I was pregnant...
But now the though is repulsing me. My toddlers are ones ho get extremely dirty and one has ultra straight and oily hair. I feel silly even asking. It's RH! But I need them to be clean for Shabbos.

Of course you should ask. That's was a Rav is for.

I never asked. They take baths every yom tov. What's the shaila?

You can't wash hair as it will cause squeezing which is not permitted.

How do you have hot water?
I have a baby and toddler who can't skip more than one day, but I don't want to bathe them in cold water, either.
Should I ask my cleaning help, maybe? 🤔

It's permitted to turn on hot water on YT.

Hot water isn’t the issue.
Squeezing water and smearing soap are more the issue.
(And maybe more issues)

No it's not. It's not bishul le tzorech nefesh (food)

Hot water could very much be an issue. You may boil hot water for your coffee *in a permitted manner* but shower isn't bishul be tzorech nefesh.

I don't think I can use my hot water on Yom Tov. It runs on gas ,and the boiler turns on every time I turn on the hot water.
I could ask our Rav, though.

Bathing and showering are different. We take showers but don’t give the kids baths. Also they don’t have a need for it - I have the need for them to be clean. That’s not the same thing at all.

So as we see there’s 100 different opinions on this issue. It’s a very reasonable q to ask your tab and the answer will probably be yes with qualifications, but you need to ask.

Of all those saying yes they and kids shower on Yom tov. I think I only saw one that said sefer and rav say ok.
Curious did anyone else ask sheila?

Yes, I did.
I live in a climate where everyone takes a shower every day.
There's no such thing as skipping ever. It is considered a yom tov need just like food.
We bathe and shower.
You need to be careful not to squeeze the towel. We also don't wash our hair, and we use liquid soap.

We asked the shailah and was told we could bathe/shower one body part at a time, not squeeze hair, and pat dry.

This is what I have learned too and do. I can't use hot water because of my heating system so I use cold water. no hair washing.
