DD11 is struggling with serious anger issues. She said she wants to kill everyone when she feels angry. Parenting her is severely challenging. I am getting guidance but I feel that she needs to have someone to speak to but she adamantly refuses. She sees it as a sign of failure if she 'needs help'. She keeps insisting she can improve on her own but it's not happening. She's losing friends over this behavior and I don't know how what to do.
What have others done in such situations?

Provide her with some tools and self help books. Give her a timeline where you will both monitor to see if she can do this on her own. Very possible that she will be able to if she is a very determined person. If it doesn't work, you can show her how the time has passed and maybe it's time for a third person to come in to see how she can help herself. Hugs..

Bumping because my teen really needs therapy too but doesn’t want to share her feelings with a stranger who is getting paid to listen.
She doesn’t want to do a workbook too.
