It's like a husband and wife relationship. In order to have a good one, you need 2 basics.
1. Being faithful to your spouse. Regardless of what you feel or think, you need to be faithful.
Emuna means being faithful to Hashem regardless.
2. Trusting that all times your spouse is being faithful to you. That everything your spouse does is out of love.
Bitachon means trusting that whatever Hashem sends your way is coming from a sense of love and faithfulness to you.
