Raw meat or dessert?

I'm going to ask the person I'm going to which one she prefers, but which would you prefer? LOL
My husband always gives a pack of meat as a gift/tip. The recipient always appreciates it. We're going to a friends house for one of the r"h meals and I was planning on bringing a dessert. My husband asked me if we should bring over a piece of meat for them, instead of the dessert. Hmm, I'm wondering what she's going to say because meat is expensive and she could make her own dessert Smile .

If your husband works in the meat industry it's a good gift. If not, I think it's a bit weird to give someone raw meat.

we have a frequent guest who works in the meat industry and he often brings us meat. Sometimes it is weird cuts (like a huge package of cheek meat that sat in my freezer for a year) but usually it is good stuff. we appreciate because we have lots of shabbos guests.

Someone I know raves about cheek meat in cholent, never tried it though.

I thought meat was really cheap in Argentina..? Anyhow I think its a great idea, but why not offer to make make the main dish? That way you are saving her work, and giving her the meat.

I would have used it for cholent, but it was a huge peice, about 10 lbs at least.

I'm bringing the meat and when I told my dh this, he said, okay, we'll bring a steak or roast (I'm not sure which), tongue, and a cheek. I was like shock , so much? He figured for how much it cost him and how much like if we'd buy a cake, even though I was going to make a dessert Rolling Eyes , it would be about the same. He's also very generous Very Happy !!

The cheek meat taste fantastic in the chulent, except if you don't like salt. It's very salty and you don't have to put a drop of salt in the chulent if you use the cheek. As for being huge, it's not. It's a whole bunch of cheeks. You just have to separate them.

My kids school they serve meat 3 times a week, chicken one, and milichig once a week. So, yes, I guess it's cheaper than chicken, but it's not really cheap. But we don't pay for it anyway LOL .
