I’m a first time mom so maybe I’m panicking unnecessarily. I tripped while holding my baby on a box my husband left near my baby’s crib and I managed to turn my baby so his head wouldn’t smash into the crib but unfortunately his side did. I think around his upper ribs. It’s been a few minutes and he isn’t really crying anymore. Mostly happy but whimpering on occasion. Do I need to worry about a cracked rib? Do I go to a doctor? It was a decent zetz.

Not at the moment. It’s only been 10 minutes since it happened

Doesnt hurt to call pediatrician if you're worried.
But most of my kids have at some point rolled off the bed onto carpet. All fine bh.

Babies bones are soft they can handle some bumps. If he is acting fine I wouldn’t worry.

I just flipped him from his back to front and he didn’t even whimper. I’ll text the doctor to be safe but he’s probably ok, right?

Thank you all for your help! I texted the dr and I’m waiting to hear back. I’m sure he’ll get many bumps and bruises on his own as he gets older but it really terrified me that it was me who inadvertently caused it
