After 2-3 days. My son had a rebbi that didn't call when he missed a week, he was really sad about it. In my kids schools, the teachers calls together with the class during the day.

Day 2 or 3 IME. But in my son’s cheder the rebbi often calls after just 1 day. I wonder how they have time for that.

Depends on the school and Rebbe/teacher.
I had a menahel call when ds was out for 3 days. Ds is in Bais Medrish and the Rosh Yeshiva called after 3 days
One ds got a home visit from rebbe the day after surgery (tonsils)
Dd was home sick for a week, zero calls. (her freinds called daily)

I don't ever recall teachers calling when a kid was out. Or when I was out as a kid. The only times teachers called was during covid, but everyone was out then.

Never recall a teacher calling when I was out sick. Neither for my siblings.and for my young kids now as well
Only time teacher calls is in nursery or kindergarten with the class on the phone

I don’t think my kids teachers would call them either unless it’s been a while and they know they’re sick then maybe like after a week they’d make a call with the entire class. After around 3-4 days they reach out to me by email to ask where my kid has been and if they’re ok.

I’ll never forget the time our teacher made a phone call with our entire class to wish refuah sheleima for a classmate who was out for a few days and turns out the girl was fine - her family had just taken an impromptu trip to Florida

In my kids school they call on day 2, on day 3 they send home a package with get well cards.
