If the city dug up my sidewalk, will they pave it at their cost or bill me?

Why is the city digging sidewalk up in front of houses on 49th street, off 13th, in BP?

What are they fixing?

So its not gas work?

I saw 2 weeks ago there were yellow markings on the sidewalk. I assume its all connected. Neighbors are clueless about what the workers are doing.

There's a sign it's for the drainage system.
Lucky we're near the corner, b/c can't cross anywhere on the block..

No clue. They did sidewalk near street and street near curb.
I usually ask the workers and they tell me.

I live on 49th street in boro park. They are currently working on my block. They are supposedly updating the gas pipes it shouldn't explode in case of fire.

Back in the 70s early 80s there was a gas line explosion where my grandparents resided. Luckily they survived the ordeal, with mild injuries BH. They did work on my block too.

They're currently doing it on my block. They took away 90% of parking spaces. My house is filthy from the dirt everyone's shoes keep tracking in.
I hid the ball my kids always play with because the dirt was going on their clothes...

And why would you bury cameras underground when the government already has cameras on every street?
