You can start with loop scissors which spring back open. Cutting stiffer things like cardstock or straws is easier than starting with regular paper

The teacher is super into rainbows, she looks like q clown. Im going to be hopeful that she intends for rainbows to mean what they meant in the olden days, as she has ROYGBIV posted on the wall.
