Like refraining from touching others
From talking excessively
From instigating
When someone cries we stop… that hasn’t worked for our family.
I’m taking about a 10 yo.

Are you sure this is in the realm of normal behavior? Have you gotten them evaluated?

If at 10 they're really struggling still then there's something more going on. I second going for an evaluation.

But is he?

Maybe it's not that he's bored

Did you get him evaluated?

Sounds partially like ny 11 year old and partially like my 8.5 year old. I don't know that an evaluation is necessary. Maybe he needs social skills one on one? Or a loving mother who can try to teach him right from wrong? Why would my 11 year old decide to kiss my almost 13 year old on his forehead just after closing his eyes? I huge fight issued! How to explain that it's not appropriate behavior? What age is appropriate to kiss? His 8.5 year old brother doesn't like kiss games either. That's just 1 example

Very very hard to teach this when the biology isn't there.

Is s/he the youngest? Does s/he do this at school as well?

Don't chalk it up to them being bored, it sounds like they're missing social skills and turning a blind eye is not doing them any favors.
Why don't you get them evaluated? At worse he'll need therapy.

It really does make a difference if the child has this issue in school as well or is only a problem at home.

What kind of evaluation do you suggest? A complete neuropsych by me costs a ton of money.

Not youngest
He sometimes has trouble not talking while teacher is talking. He is a talkative kid.

I’m not going meds route. Just wondering how to teach good behavior on my own. Today I cried and he was very caring after that. I think I get angry too much at him. Love the post about him needing a loving mother to guide him. I really think a lot of behavior problems is a child’s call for love and attention and not knowing how to get it.

Even without meds, a proper evaluation will open the door to proper therapies and tools for him. Especially if you're also telling us listening is a struggle.
