Looking for all the inspo for DD's 1st bday (😱!).
We don't have lots of family around and not sure about inviting friends... She's our first so their kids wouldn't have anyone to play with, but celebrating with adults seems strange.
Thinking to just do a cute photoshoot and cake.

We did a little cake smash with 1 set of grandparents who happened to be around. I also prepared a little slideshow of pictures from newborn to 1 year. At that age they don’t even appreciate what’s going on so it really is for the adults. They’re just happy to get some sweets.

Gave him a cupcake and sang happy birthday. It was really sweet. We took lots of pictures of him eating the cupcake and then sent them to the grandparents and loving family members.

Invite grandparents if you have local, otherwise a small family celebration with just you guys. I find inviting other adults whom the baby hardly knows to be a little funny. Make it about him, not about 'the party.'
