My baby barely sleeps all day. She naps in the morning for half hour , at most an hour. Then she naps again at 4 also for about the same amount of time. And she doesn't even sleep 12 hours at night.
It's so frustrating because I don't have time to do anything. When she's up she kveches a lot. And need to be held.
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing I do helps her sleep.
Only if she's really tired she sleeps. I Wait to see her cues like rubbing her eyes.
I try the stroller. Nursing. She doesn't take a paci.
I don't know what I can do differently.

My baby is 8 months old.
This is very controversial, but personally I find that unless they are the type of baby that is putting themselves to sleep through the night by themselves, if you want them to sleep at this age, you need to train them somehow.
If I put my baby in and she wakes up before 45 minutes to an hour, during her first morning nap , I'll let her kvetch herself back to sleep. But when I first started there were a couple times that she cried very loudly for up to 15-20 minutes. However, the first few times this happened, when I took her out and held her, she was still crying and kvetching & I knew that she really needed her nap. If this was the way that she would be able to get it then that's what had to happen. I don't subscribe to the belief that if the baby cries a little bit they are going to be permanently scarred.
I also trained her to sleep through the night at 6 months with the doctor's approval.
This is her schedule:
Wake usually between 5:00 and 6:30. I nurse her and depending on the day she will either fall back asleep on me for an extra 30 to 60 minutes or will wake up for the day.
9/945: depending on the day and my schedule and what time she woke up, I will nurse her and put her in for a nap and she will usually go until 11:30/12.
Depending on what time, she woke up and my schedule for the day, she will go back in for a nap between two and three. Again, since I'm home, it depends on the day and either she will be up to her fourth feeding at this point or she won't be up to it so I will put her in, and Nurse when she wakes up. At this point she's usually pretty tired and goes in happily.
I don't let her sleep past 4:15 because I like when they go to sleep no later than 7:00 but she usually wakes up by 3:30 on her own. That means that her second nap tends to be between 45 min to one and a half hours.
I then nurse her to sleep at night between 6:30 and 7:00 depending on how tired she is.

So early wake up and early bedtime. I'll try putting her to sleep early today.
I don't like the cio idea. She screams until I come get her. I wouldn't be able to tolerate that more than a few min. So I give in and get her out.
It's so hard to function this way.

I know.
So I went s/w or put on music not to hear.
Sounds horrible- but she is so much happier since she sleeps all night & naps properly.
She used to cry so often.

There are other sleep training methods besides cio that can work. Do you have a night time routine? Maybe start with that. I would work on nighttime wakeups before daytime naps personally…
Also found reading sleep training books helpful on understanding the science and system of baby sleep, even if I didn’t implement their tactics- maybe read up on baby sleep a little?

Maybe try putting the baby back to sleep 2 hours after wake up time (even if the baby doesn't show you tiredness.

I have the same age. I sleep trained her with the Ferber method and it really helped. she cries for a few minutes usually then falls asleep, but I find that puts her in a deep sleep. She naps usually for 1.5 hours twice a day.

Yes, that's the method I use.
