Magna Tiles vs other brands

Are the original Magna Tiles actually better than other brands? Quality, magnet strength etc..?

I find that whenever I bought the generic brands they broke and the magnets came out causing a choking hazard. I'd rather spend the extra money and have the peace of mind.

Long run, get the original. It last longer and works better.

If it's just for a while, like for pesach or for Bubby's house, knockoffs work perfectly fine

There's no comparison. Have the original Magna Tiles for 7 years and they get used a lot.

I got connetix because they have extra closure at each corner so I feel like they're safer. But very expensive and not as strong magnets. We've never had one break yet bh.

We've had Playmager for about 10 years now with no breakage or other issues. No reason to spend the extra money on Magna Tiles IME.

We've been happy with Picasso tiles. I throw them out of they crack- I've thrown out 3 in 4 years

I have real magna tiles and fake compatible Amazon ones. I honestly cannot tell the difference except colors and magnatiles have a line through it. Our magnatile brand ones actually have cracked/broke. Fake ones haven't yet...

Have had playmager (big box from Osher Ad) for 10 years and 6 kids bH (and guests etc) and they've lasted beautifully so far.

Depends on the brand.
I have play mag and another fake brand and have been so happy.
Mil bought a different off brand and it's terrible.

Playmags, Picasso and shape mags should be equal quality to magna tiles.

Fun fact the owner of geniusgems.com told me that he only uses playmags because they were strongest. I think that's also owned by chassidish Jews

we have the off brands and love them. None of the magnets ever came out. Some edges have cracks, but none really broken. They get thrown around (from tall towers falling, etc)

They are played less now, but when my kids were younger there wasn't a week they weren't out. I have them around 8 years.

I have both real magna tiles and play mags and both have lasted beautifully. I have the magna tiles for about 11 years now and replenished with playmags over the years. (I have a lot like 7-8 sets, my kids like making HUGE things)

I have the old playmags from 10 years ago as well as the new playmags. The new playmags are great. The old ones are not. I would love to replace them eventually.
