Im struggling and I feel alone.

I wonder where you both live. Most people around me are just making it and not spending on extras.

I make ends meet but I'm careful. Retired and on a fixed income, still try to put a few $ aside for future, since even COLA, which I'm not even yet eligible for, doesn't keep up with inflation.

I’m in lkwd.

Even if not spending on extras life is just crazy expensive right now and everyone seems like cruising along.

Almost everyone I know went on some sort of summer vacation
Kids went to sleepover camp

Now there is non stop buying

Uniforms
School shoes
Yom tov shoes
School supplies
Winter clothing
Yom tov clothing
Socks/tights
Etc
All the expensive stores are packed.
Lines are out the door.

Why is there no option for really struggling, no savings at all, but not worried because a Hashem is in control. Why is there no option for not worried?

OP, I feel the same. Everyone went on vacation or doing day trips... While we can barely afford basic necessities. We haven't gone away in years. I haven't purchased a sheitel in many many years, my second hand sheitel is years old (I wash and set them myself). I need clothing for yom Tov desperately and feel desperate for a change of scenery, just like everyone else. My DH and myself are working hard to try and make ends meet but, We don't understand Hashems ways and why it's bashert for some to be comfortable (even saving up) while we are drowning... I feel along with your pain. It's not easy. Let's hope the coming year will be a better year financially (in edition to gezunt, Nachas and all).

I live way beneath my means. Always have. Saving and being careful with spending is a high priority of mine.

What size clothing or shoes are you? I have trendy clothing which doesn't fit due to weight gain.

Because you'd have to be a malach to live this way.

Believing in hashem doesn't mean it will work out the way you hope. It means that we accept we don't understand why bad things happen.

Are you truly ok when really bad things happen?

We’re barely making it - waiting for my paycheck to come in tomorrow to pay the babysitter, 11k cc debt 0% interest type of barely making it Smile
That being said, we went on vacation this summer for 3 days, 2 nights entirely paid with cc points.
Vacation doesn’t mean your making it.

Who said people can afford those things? Credit cards or money gifted from relatives...

Vacation doesn’t mean your making it.

But why not use the points to get cash back or credit back to your account/bill? Why use for vacation?

No it doesn’t mean it will work out the way we humans expect, but the worry doesn’t help anything and is not a life. And I do my hishtadlus but ultimately it’s not in my control

Really wanted to believe Hashem was gonna say yes and get us out of this mess without having to liquidate a big asset. But He said no, and I trust that’s what’s best. Currently selling our first home that was paying off a mortgage plus the rental income was helping us monthly.
But now we have 60k in debt so we need to just liquidate to pay off.
We are so lucky we have this.
Sad how hard DH and I both work Sad

I still think you'd have to be a malach to not worry.

Do people worry when their loved one has cancer? Why worry? What good will it do anyway?
