I’m talking about myself! I work in and out of the home part time, different hours and schedule each day.
I find that no matter what when the kids come home I’m starting to scramble to figure out dinner. The house may still have the mess from the morning etc… for the mess so probably need to just set aside 10 mins when the kids leave in the morning and it’ll be all done. But other than that I feel like I want to be more prepared when the kids come home so I’m happy and more present.
Suggestions!

I did prep and rally for many years but I am taking a break from it now. Some things I have done to make dinners easier are mixing up slow cooker dinners, very quick meals I have a list of 15 minute dinners my kids like, salad night, one night pasta/pizza.
This past week we had burgers on Sunday (takes 15 minutes), Monday was mac and cheese, Tuesday was chicken ceasar salad wraps (took more like 30 minutes), Wed was Korean beef bowls using the rest of the ground beef I bought for the burgers also took 15 minutes and last night was dairy burritos.
I also find having a framework helps. Sunday we alternate milchig and fleishig depending on leftovers and mood, Monday is pareve and light dairy, Tues/Wed is meat and Thursday is dairy. So I can plug in to those categories to organize my self.
I also have a lot of one on one time with my almost 8 year old making dinner. He helped me make chicken cutlets for dinner Tuesday and we got to chat. He loves to help in the kitchen and does a pretty good job.
