In the garage when it's not hot?

I thought so too. Actually really need tips since I'm never successful (although I'm talking about just a car seat and not Doona).

To all bashers, op didn't give details. Perhaps her baby has a severe digestive condition or other medical need that warranted sleeping in an upright position. |
What and How????

My gi, ent, and pediatrician all told me to either keep my baby right next to me or keep him in a car seat when he was throwing up in the middle of the night. This was before he learned to roll.

She doesn't need to give details. I've heard of parents that were told by their doctors to have the baby sleep in a carseat due to specific medical needs.

I go inside, prep a bottle , then stick it in baby’s mouth and transfer him while he drinks a bottle. |
Please don’t go inside while your baby’s still in the car. Bring the bottle stuff with you when you leave the house.

Say a person has triplet toddlers sleeping in the car and needs to bring them all in the house? You can't bring them in one at a time alone? Another adult must always be there?

Following. My baby is a year old.
Don't bash. Doctor actually RECOMMENDED that my baby sleep in the Doona due to bad reflux.
I did this after having a child with torticollis (who slept in the crib btw)
Bh, his development is great. Planning to transition now...

I'm not sure if it's considered safe, but maybe try using a dock-a-tot in the crib. It'll give him that snuggly/tight feeling.
Good luck!

OP, whatever the reason is that baby slept in a carseat until now doesn't matter at this point. I would just do the transfer to the crib cold turkey. There's a big chance it might not be a hard transition. If baby has a hard time, you may need to introduce a different kind of soothing, such as back rubbing, paci etc and then wean away from that when you are ready.

Just because someone is a doctor doesn't mean they don't give unsafe advice. And when it comes to car seats they are so outdated and give horrendous advice. I'm appalled that any doctor recommends it for any reason. It is so dangerous especially if the baby is not fully strapped in correctly. It's a leading cause of SIDS nowadays. How can they ignore how many babies die when sleeping in a car seat for long periods of time? Car seats are only safe for short trips. Even if you travel by car for a while you are supposed to take baby out for a break after 1.5-2 hours to prevent blood clots, neck issues and breathing issues. Never let a baby sleep in a car seat for hours, or while you can't see them, and never ever put them in one without proper strapping them. If they aren't properly strapped with the chest clip under the arm pits and the straps pulled tight they can die of asphyxiation. I see babies in doonas all the time, I hardly see correct straps. We need to be way more careful with our babies lives.

The best thing you can do for your baby is cold turkey. Put them in the crib. You can sit by their side and comfort them and they will get used to it after a week.

And babies with severe reflux and other gastrointestinal conditions can be at risk of asphyxiation, aspiration, and SIDS from sleeping lying down. You do you, personally I put more trust in a medical degree and advanced fellowships than some anonymous ima and I hope anyone else that was advised similarly does as well

As someone who had such a baby, there are so many safe methods that don't involve car seats. Everyone should ask for those other methods.

Anyway I am curious what other sleep methods exist that have a child in an upright position besides for a swing, bouncer, car seat, bassinet with pillows/towes that doesn’t involve holding the child all night.
