I hope you’re feeling better by now, but posting just in case you still are nauseous (or for future readers). This happened to me whenever I fasted when nursing (&/or pregnant) and it is from dehydration. What helps me is drinking tea slowly (no plain water until later), and eat toast or something plain like crackers.
If you can get some type of electrolyte drink and take small sips every few min that should help too.

If your husband can’t go out to buy an electrolyte drink for you, try mixing lemonade with a pinch of salt. It’s not perfect but it’ll be better than water. Start with the tea first though, it settles the stomach.

And before your next fast, you need to get a lot of electrolyte drinks (not Gatorade/powerade - you need the better ones made for athletes) or electrolyte powder that you mix with water, & start drinking them at least 2 days before the fast, even 3 days before if you can. That has been a huge gamechanger for me in being able to get though fasting without getting nauseous.

(You can reply if you want suggestions of which specific ones I use, but there are lots out there. Even body armor is pretty helpful bec it has coconut water in it.)

Feel better!
Oh & give yourself a lot of extra slack tomorrow, plus let your husband know that you might still not feel fully well for another day.

I think I must have fallen back asleep. Baby just came back and is nursing again Can't Believe It the orange juice was cold. I do have ice cream. Maybe by Yom Kippur I can convince this baby that he doesn't need to drink me to death... I still feel the same

You need electrolytes or this will turn into a hatzlalah call

Oy! You desperately need electrolytes! Orange juice won't do it. Try to add a little salt and a drop of juice to water. Not the best but better than nothing. Really try to get gatorade or something, it's so important it'll make you feel muchhhh better. And pretzels!

Can you see what I posted on top of this page?
Ask your husband to go out & buy body armor or even pedialyte. Drink tea slowly in meantime & take little bites of toast if you can.

You can call hatzala if you aren’t feeling better within next hour or so, ask if they can give you IV fluids - but they might have to take you to ER for it.

And can you or your husband give your baby a bottle? Nursing without getting any electrolytes is making you feel worse.

My dr recommended a bath for when you are too dehydrated to drink.
It really helps.
I had times when I couldn’t keep down any liquids before the bath and afterwards was able to drink.

Feel good!!

Ok. Drink the body armor just a little at a time, waiting a few min in between. Take little bites of cracker or toast every few min too.

If he can’t find body armor, he can get pedialyte or drip drop electrolyte powder (which you just mix with water) in a drugstore.

Oh & while you're waiting for your husband to get the electrolyte drink, can you mix hot water with some lemon juice/sugar/pinch of salt?
If it’s hot I find it easier to get down - but also just little sips at a time.

He only got home now with body armor in the worst flavor (to be fair he did ask me what I wanted and I said I don't know. I didn't know grape was an option.) I'm trying to drink tiny sips at a time. I tried taking a bite of a donut (that's what was available...) and had to spit it out because it made me too nauseous to swallow. I tried giving the baby a bottle and he just cried and cried so now I'm nursing him again and I don't know what will be.

I'm also a little worried about the bottle because all I have is regular cow milk. He's 1 so he's allowed to have it but has never had a large amount before and also he's not much past 1

Can your husband give him the bottle just for tonight? The baby won’t take it from you bec he can still smell your milk, but will be more inclined to take it from your husband. He’ll probably cry a little but if he’s desperate enough he’ll drink it. Or he might even fall asleep & give up on the milk for now…

He’s not a tiny baby, and it’s just for one night, so it’s ok. And if you’ve been drinking regular milk for the past few months while nursing him, he’s had it in your milk so he isn’t allergic.
(If you’ve been off dairy though, then it’s more of a question)

I’m glad you have the body armor now BH.
Any sweet foods will make you feel more nauseous. Do you have plain Cheerios? You can just eat a few of those at a time (dry without milk).

And if it helps, you can drink the body armour with an ice cube, when it’s cold it doesn’t taste as bad.

They would definitely give you fluids and maybe take you in in such a state. Especially if you keep nursing and don’t drink enough. Dehydration can be deadly if extreme. Listen to your body.

He drank the whole bottle in the end. Kept crying for me. I sent him out with dh but dh is running out of energy and I am not feeling any better at all. Just started sending out messages if anyone knows a hatzolah guy who can run fluids because I'm desperate at this point, only got down maybe an ounce of little sips of body armor. I'm located in Monticello (upstate NY) currently if you know anyone in the area

I know many. Call it in. Don’t be a martyr. Upstate they’re excited to go to a call.
