I am considering a full day teaching job - what kind of salary should I expect in a MO school in NYC? I dont want to be a chazer, but dont want to be a sucker either! Thanks!

public schools in nyc start you at over $45,000 a year with absolutely no experience. I thought MO schools were on par with the public schools, or better.
I would love to know if this is true, since I'm considering switching over in a few years...

According to a friend who moved from a MO school to public school, the MO school salary isn't even close. The entirety of the package may be better, though, given tuition breaks and day care at many schools.

I have no firsthand experience but I think you need to look at the whole package, not just salary: health insurance, disability, retirement, perks, vacations etc. Could be the PS system gives a lot more.

I was offfered 15,000 to teach 1 class (six hours/week class time, lots more prep time) in a well regarded MO NYC high school.
