We’re heading to LA to visit family. I searched previous posts on this site but only found for bigger kids or overnight trips.
Anyone have recommendations of places we can go with a 2 year old? Can’t do overnight and would rather not drive more then an hour. And no beaches please

Also is it worth it to go to Tierra Sur one night if I’m pregnant and not drinking?

Tierra Sur is a nice restaurant but the wine is a big aspect of it.
Day trips-
Discovery Cube
Science center
Lots of museums... cayton is supposedly good for this age- I never went.
Amusement parks (some are free for under 2 and they still have rides a toddler would like).
Do you like to hike?
Grove is an outdoor mall with a trolley and a water fountain that sings and does a performance
Zoo
Griffith park has a merry go round.
You said no beaches... anything else you don't like?

Got it so will probably skip tierra sur unless husband really wants to go.

We’ve done the grove many times it’s fun but not too much to do there

But this is a great list! Thanks!!

We do have access to a pool all the days we’re there so that will be some days

Which zoo is in la? I only know about the one in San Diego:)

No beaches cuz summer+shemiras einayim. I know from experience everywhere in CA there are half dressed people but would love to minimize that.

Hike is ok as long as it’s super easy- 2 to+pregnant mommy, can’t do anything too strenuous

Are there any amusement parks specifically geared to toddlers?
Really appreciate this!

Kidspace, traintown, little aquarium by the pier, kfar saba urban farm , saycheez la ( never been but looks nice)
If you are going somewhere in Ventura county then go to Tierra sur for lunch, but don’t drive just for the food

La has great restaurants

Amazing ty! Yes we’ve done many of the restaurants
Trattoria Natalie, Pats, fish grill, la gondola, mensch, dr sandwich…. Want to try la gondola this time and go back to pats one night

We had no other plans to go out to Ventura so maybe we’ll skip the winery this time.

Thanks for these ideas! I have to look them up hopefully they’ll work!

My favorites are bodhi Thai, Lenny’s casita , next door ( although probably not good with a toddler) and lots of places in the valley are great - bourekas, Tel Aviv grill, Tel Aviv fish grill, tapas bar,

Outside of those locations: bella bread and butter and Long Beach beer lab

Not everyone holds of this. We are strict about it. I don’t know if it’s specific sects that hold this way or family minhag but I know it’s a thing we hold of

Definitely worth it, we went with a baby and a toddler, I don’t recall ordering any wine. The food was delicious and I knew it’s a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Not sure if and when I’ll ever get to go back to LA.

Hmm. Well now I’m intrigued lol. We go very often (tons of family there bh!) so I guess will depend if we have a babysitter cuz I do not want to shlep my toddler along
