you missed the whole point. this is not about time zones. this is abt how important limud hatorah is, and how we should be doing absolutely everything we can to have MORE ppl learning.

He's volunteering. He is not required to be there.
Many people close to me are over 40 and volunteering as well. Because they know there isn't enough manpower.

No, I meant in general. The melech hamashiach will have an army, whenever that is. Who will be in the army?

What does this have to do with the topic of this thread?
We have real talmeidei chachamim from the DL world fighting for us while there are thousands of chareidi "enrolled in yeshiva in name only" refusing to fight.

He's a volunteer. I have lots of neighbors who still volunteer in miluim even though they are over 40 and have large families. Quite a few of them had stopped doing miluim years ago and restarted in this war because there was a shortage of soldiers

Secondly of all it's highly arrogant to claim "we don't need chareidi Rabbis for religious functions".
I have no problem with DL Rabbis for brit milah. Nobody said chareidim has monopoly on religious services. |
Yes, you did. You said that the posters family definitely utilized services of chareidi rabbis. I and others pointed out to you that that's wrong.
I'm not being arrogant. I am stating a fact. DL rabbis do all religions functions. Not only chareidi rabbis.

So why were so many people rejected then? Sorry I just feel confused. I'm not against chareidim serving per say, but I don't think my dh would of been accepted either had he volunteered (which he did want to)

Nope, you are throwing a lot of hyperbole really. And not "able" to explain yourself half the time.
You wrote, and I quote "I'm asking because many non-religious people here, even if they hate chareidim with a passion, will actually use and need chareidim for religious needs or purposes".
What did you mean by that? Because all of us who were replying to you after were saying that there are many rabbanim not only charedim. So what was your point here?

Um, yes I have. But I'm talking about the words of the Rambam in הלכות מלכים ומלחמותיהם. I think it's pretty clear that he's talking about a physical war, no?

Because the people from my yishuv (and many many others) are already trained combat soldiers. It's not the same as trying to start train people from scratch when they are already passed the age that it makes sense

There's a major difference between an older, rusty soldier and a middle-aged man who has zero experience.

but that doesnt exclusively mean drafting into the army.
there are many ways to protect our rfellow jews - spiritually and physically. | But why does someone have to do one or the other? Or one and not the other? For example, as we have said a billion times already, hesder, there is spiritual AND physical.

ok well if thats ur argument..
trust me dear, when melech moshiach shows up - the gedolim or chareidi world will be the first to show up and fight.
thats not the question.
but DL hold that we are already fighting those wars.
chareidim say - says who? wheres moshiach? and I personally dont believe that the IDF in its current state is the army of moshiach.

I *asked* the poster. I specifically asked her if they performed brit milah BM and if they had a jewish wedding. I *asked* if it was chareidi Rabbi or conservative or reform Rabbi.
