Clearly this is a bit of a hot topic. As someone who doesn’t care either way, what do you like so much about thinly cut schnitzel?

The mouth feel is much pleasanter. Also cooks more evenly.

I hear the cooking more evenly part but I don’t think my palette discriminates between thick or thin

Cooks more evenly, less chewy, and it’s the only way I’ll eat it. I hate thick pieces it just doesn’t taste good.

There’s more crunch to chicken ratio in every bite. Maybe people like that.
My kids like it thin and crunchy.

Less chances of cartilage in the cutlet.
Cooks more evenly.
I can fry on high heat and they're ready faster.

I find thicker schnitzel juicier, so I prefer thicker. Thinner slices tend to be overwhelmed by the breading so I don't get to enjoy the actual chicken part.

Is the schnitzel thinly cut or the chef?

More crunch in every bite, the chicken doesn't get dried out and weird.

You can pound a thicker one so it's evener.

Omg I resonate with this so much. LOL it needs to be thin. Texture, flavor, for some reason I rlly can't eat thick. LOL

Thin tastes different than thick. Thick has a very chicken-y taste that makes me gag.

That’s the secret. When I’m rushing I cut them thin or treat myself and pay more for thin cut. When I want them really good I pound them to an even thickness that’s not too thin but not too thick. Pound the thicker side not the skinnier end. Delicious.

Pounding them breaks down the fibres and tenderises them.

I don't care thick or thin....but I prefer dark chicken. Juicier and much more flavor.
