Hi,
Can anyone help me with medical travel insurance for my 20 year old son.
He'll be going to Isreal for about 2 months.
Won't be traveling around mainly going to be in Jerusalem.
Travel agent says they only have travelers insurance for one month and it isn't a good one.
I tried getting a quote online at insuremytrip.com. they don't have what I need.
Can anyone help me here?
Thanks!

There's a good chance they can help.
Since Israel is officially a war zone, travel insurance can be expensive at the moment, but their prices are reasonable.

They don't have an American number and I assume they're closed for the day.
Meanwhile, anyone else?
Really appreciate

An israeli insurance company should have exactly what you need. I got these numbers from chaim vchessed website.
ASA Worldwide Insurance 02-532-5110 718-874-2751
Egert & Cohen Insurance 02-623-2546 050-548-2192

They're fantastic. We recommend them to all our visitors. |
Thanks. It sounds like a good plan.
I get confused when asked which of the three I want.
Harel
Maccabi
Clalit
There's no explanation.

Clalit and Macabi both have good coverage in Jerusalem. As a tourist, here for a couple of months, it won't make much difference. He could find out which has a clinic closer to where he will be staying, but it's not likely to be more than a few minutes difference.

So I tried getting through Allianz as well as mentioned on the other thread and this was their response.
Quote: | The Israel-Hamas Armed Conflict became a known event as of October 7, 2023. Until further notice, we are not accepting sales of policies covering known travel to Israel. Policies that become effective after October 7, 2023 will not provide coverage or accommodations for losses directly or indirectly resulting from this event. Read our Coverage Alert for more details about policy coverage, accommodations, and exclusions related to this event. |
I guess this is why its so hard to find a policy and why my travel agent says it's very hard to get one for more than a month.
I'll try all the other recommendations here but if someone has recently used a specific agent for medical travel insurance for a 2 months trip to Isreal I would really appreciate.
Thanks

Ok thanks.
It looks like I'll have to talk to someone in Isreal.

Right. You need Israeli insurance. Everyone else is too scared of the war.
