Got mine for the first time in camp. I didn’t have anything. Used tissues till I confided in a friend who gave me the few pads her mom sent for her.
I wished I had my own. I had lots of bloody stuff that came home

I disagree, if she’s young enough to not have her period yet you probably should have helped her pack at least a little. Packing for sleepaway camp is a huge job.

No a 12 year old should be quite capable. And no, she shouldn't beat herself up. She reminded her, and it is what it is

Of packing herself up for an entire month? Disagree it’s a really big job for someone who’s not even a teen yet.
