ADHD kids need positive reinforcement, immediately and in the moment. Sitting and talking about his behavior is useless. So is time out honestly. He's lacking skills, focus on providing those.

And keep a close eye this coming school year because you don't want him to drown in a real school setting. The school will really have to work with him.
