I used to be really really fit. After several pregnancies I am still in pretty good shape (comparatively to my mom friends). BH”
I’ve been toying with the idea of running again, particularly running in a race to prove to myself that I can do it. I have a difficult life and a lot of challenges and intense exercise helps me to feel better because of the endorphins.
There seem to be a lot of barriers to running — it’s hot outside, I have to be tznua, my kids would need to be in a heavy running stroller, I work full time and don’t have much time to train, I’m iffy on whether a race is seen as acceptable in my community, etc.
Looking for encouragement and/ or practical advice!

Would a treadmill help you for a portion of the training?

Can't you just run yourself and time it? Don't see how u can win against others when you have to push a stroller as well

On the contrary, running with a stroller is akin to running with a weighted body vest, which athletes do to increase the resistance and build strength and stamina.
In any case, I assume OP means running a marathon, not a sprint. Unless you're really a contender to finish in the top ten, the "gedula" is in having the stamina to reach the finish line..Your time is secondary.
