Where can I buy kosher sourdough bread or challah online?

My local grocery (I live OOT) used to sell sourdough challah in the frozen section by a company named pas Yisroel and we loved it but they stopped carrying it and I can’t find it anywhere online! Open to other brands too Smile

TIA!

ETA: doesn’t need to be pas yisroel

Depending on where you live OOT there may be more options than you think!

KVH certifies a few sourdough brands as kosher/pas yisroel. Including by 365 (Whole Foods), Panera, and Fantini (available in many supermarkets). Check their website for details.

Ask the grocery if they can start bringing it in again.

(It’s very easy to make your own, I have a crazy busy life and I still make sourdough 1-2 times a week)
In parentheses because I don’t want any tomatoes

How do you make it? Kind of intimidated by the making and maintaining starter.

Making that starter is probably the most intensive part of the process but after that your starter can live in the fridge be fed 1-2 times per week before you bake. It doesn’t have to take over your life…
Even better, if you know someone who makes sourdough, they would probably be glad to give you some starter, which you could use to make your own.
Because of the long proofing time, you can put your dough up before you go to work and bake it when you get home, which makes it much more schedule friendly than regular challah (at least for me).

I’ve attached 2 links to a website that helped me get into sourdough. She is very good at giving you all the information you need to understand what you’re doing (and why). And this bread recipe hasn’t failed me yet!
