Pasta
Bottle of Italian salad dressing
Defrosted bag of broccoli/cauliflowers/carrots (California blend)
(Alternatively, you could cut grape tomatoes in half, add bell peppers, string beans, and olives)

For the dressing I use bottled Italian salad dressing or pesto. Mix in any combo of the following:
Olives
Grape tomatoes
Bell peppers
Chickpeas
Steamed frozen green beans
Steamed frozen broccoli/cauliflower florets
For dairy, fresh mozzarella balls or chunks
For meat, pieces of grilled chicken

Between carpools has a delicious pesto pasta salad (they include chicken in it but you can skip that)

I make this exact recipe all the time and will often either use sweetener or powdered sugar to avoid the cooking step and it comes out great. Another option is to microwave it. Its the oerfect recipe.for whole wheat because the noodles turn brown anyway and the taste is totally covered by the dressing.
I also make a salad with elbow noodles and finely dice:
celery
purple onion
red, yellow, orange pepper
dressing is mayo and Italian dressing, salt, garlic powder. Should be on the thicker side. Pour over salad and mix well
