Are you embarrassed to tell ppl if you're on vouchers?

I get embarrassed and put on the spot if I'm asked outright or if someone asks where I send to a playgroup and it's a voucher only playgroup. Like it's basically letting you know my income status

Nobody should be embarrassed that they have vouchers. They should be embarrassed about reporting only the minimum amount of money to be eligible

If I knew someone sent to a voucher playgroup I’d be happy for them and wish I could have an affordable daycare option for my own kids! No judgement (unless I know someone’s cheating the government)

Dh was out of work years ago and a family with 10 kids asked to come for yomtov. they weren't bringing anything to the meal either. I said we were getting financial help from the community and that it wasn't right to ask them to feed us and a family too. I wasnt happy to say it but it wasn't the first time I had to say it either.

I am Canadian and I don't know what vouchers are specifically, but I get the idea. No, I would not be embarassed. When I get this kind of thing in Canada, I actually feel relieved when people accidentally find out. It's like, I can just be myself and don't need to pretend I'm some big macher;)
Also as long as I am being honest, ethical and trying my personal best, and also I use the support to get stronger, so that I can "give back" to society later, it actually feels like I'm doing the right thing to accept the help I need right now.

In nyc the vouchers limit is over 130k for a family of 6. That's decent enough and everyone has vouchers. If u can't get vouchers, people wonder why u can't adjust your legal income to get it

I am shamed for not having vouchers. Apparently the vouchers preschools are for fancy people and my kid will be neglected in a regular preschool.

Nothing to be embarrassed at all, no one knows how exactly you got it, and there are so many types of vouchers too.
Most people that ask if you send to a vouchers playgroup is because they're looking for one
